What this
site is for:

This web site offers information about Scoliosis, Kyphosis, Spondylolisthesis and other common diseases of the spine. Although generalizations about the diagnosis and treatment of spine disorders are commonly applicable, each patient's condition needs to be individualized. Two patients presenting with similar spine pathology may need different treatment depending on the circumstances of age, sex, or previous spine surgery as well other medical problems.

If you haven't seen a doctor

If you suffer from back pain, you may think you recognize a symptom or pattern of symptoms as you read about these diseases. If you do, see a doctor -- either your primary care physician or an orthopedic specialist -- as soon as possible. But don't panic, and don't jump to conclusions. Many people have back pain for simple reasons that have nothing to do with a serious disease.

If you need a second opinion

Perhaps, on the other hand, you've already been diagnosed with one of these diseases and you're surfing the web in search of a second opinion about either the diagnosis or your options for treatment. If so, this site may be able to help you.
